Immediate Dentures Burlington
Immediate dentures are complete or partial dentures that are infused into the your mouth the same day that the natural teeth are been removed. There are various advantages to receiving this type of denture; you will never have to go in public without teeth, also it will be easier for the dentist to replicate the natural tooths’ shape, colour, & alignment as the old tooth may still be present while the dentures are being sized. Since the denture will be placed almost immediately after the natural tooth is being extracted, it will act as a band aid to the gums and will protect the gum tissue and may reduce bleeding.
The exact time frame and number of visits to the dentist after being fitted for immediate dentures is dependent on the number of teeth that were extracted and have to be replaced. The procedure consists of the dentist first taking impressions of the teeth and recording the bite, and then the dentist advises the technician which teeth are being replicated and the technician makes a model of the teeth. Once the technician has the model and begins to create the denture, the dentist extracts the tooth and the patient is then fitted for the denture. A follow up appointment is needed to make modifications to the dentures if required.
